Hochschule Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences (h_da) is located in the federal state of Hesse in the center of Germany. Darmstadt is only a short drive from Frankfurt International Airport, and the German train system makes it possible to reach cities such as Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Paris, or Amsterdam in just a few hours.
As one of the largest universities of applied sciences in Germany, h_da has 12 departments with more than 60 bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering, natural sciences, mathematics, computer sciences, business, social sciences, architecture, media and design. The mission of h_da is to provide an education focused on industry and applied research. Small classes and labs create a familiar teaching and learning environment where the students can gain practical hands-on experience.
Since 2016, h_da has three centers for doctorates: for applied computer science, social work and sustainability sciences.
As a visiting academic at h_da, you will have the full support of the Welcome Center for any organisational questions before and during your stay. h_da is a family friendly university, and we will do our best to also welcome accompanying family members and to make them feel at home. Additionally, a host professor from your department will help guide you and answer any academic questions you may have.
