Erasmus+ Programme
General information
Erasmus+ is the EU programme for education, training, youth and sport. Erasmus+ supports the objectives of the European education agendas, the modernisation, internationalisation and qualitative improvement of higher education in Europe. It aims to strengthen the international competences, personal development and employability of students, increase the attractiveness of the EU as a place to study and research, and contribute to the sustainable development of higher education in third countries. Erasmus+ focuses on promoting mobility for the purpose of learning and transnational cooperation.
In order to achieve its objectives, the Erasmus+ Programme foresees the implementation of the following key actions during the period 2021-2027:
- Key Action 1: Learning mobility of individuals
- Key Action 2: Cooperation between organisations and institutions
- Key Action 3: Support for policy development and policy cooperation.

The Erasmus+ Programme at Hochschule Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences
The Erasmus+ programme plays a key role in the internationalisation strategy of the Hochschule Darmstadt. The importance of the Erasmus+ programme is reflected in the participation of the Hochschule Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences in various Erasmus key actions.
Erasmus Charter (ECHE) and Erasmus University Policy Statement (EPS)
The Erasmus Charter forms the basis for all activities applied for and carried out under the Erasmus+ programme. A new Charter must be applied for with each new Erasmus+ programme generation. Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences has repeatedly successfully applied for and received the respective Erasmus Charter since its introduction.
An important part of the Erasmus Charter is the Erasmus+ European Policy Statement (EPS). This statement sets out the strategy, objectives and priorities of Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences in relation to the activities carried out under the Erasmus+ programme and explains how the quality of the measures implemented is ensured.
