The road to digitalization in Higher Education

Join us for this year’s Erasmus International Staff Week! 2 to 6 December 2024

Located in the Rhine-Main region, and known as the "The City of Science", Darmstadt is a great place to experience German culture and get to know colleagues from around the world.  

This year we have created an attractive programme from 2 to 6 December 2024 for you: The road to digitalization in Higher Education. We will emphasize not only the challenges that digitalization has proven to be for universities but also on the benefits of digital teaching and learning and the paths it opens up for dealing with societal changes and challenges. We will round it off with a cultural programme, tasty "Glühwein" and the opportunity to get to know our students.   

Programme at a Glance

During the Erasmus International Week, you will be able to experience life at h_da through the eyes of our students and staff by:

  • taking a tour of the h-da campus and the city 
  • workshops on digitalization in higher education 
  • sharing best practises of digitalization in learning at your home institution
  • experiencing German culture by exploring Darmstadt and the Rhine-Main region
  • meeting and getting to know your international colleagues and 
  • promoting your home institution at our Study Abroad Fair

Accomodation

The reservation and cost of accommodation are the responsibility of each participant. 
We recommend that you wait to reserve your accommodation until you have received your participation confirmation for the Erasmus International Week.
We have collected some options for hotels in Darmstadt.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Good to know

  • This opportunity is open to all teaching and non-teaching staff alike. 
  • The entire Erasmus International Week will be in English.
  • Because there is a focus on digitalization, we will give preference to experts in the field.  
  • Many activities are interactive, so please come ready to participate.  
  • There will be a Study Abroad Information Session for you to present your home institution.  

Costs

There is no fee for this event, however, participants will be expected to cover their own travel, accommodation and daily costs. Please check with your International Office to see whether you are eligible for Erasmus funding through your home institution.  
If you work at an institution with no access to the Erasmus+ Programme, please check if your international office can provide you with funds.

Spaces are limited to 30 participants. All applicants, coming from our partner institutions or non-partner institutions, are welcome.
