Event

Event information: "Fundamentals of statistical data analysis"

The online course on 18. and 19. July (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) teaches basic concepts of statistics and enables participants to understand quantitative research/publications and carry out their own data analyses. The first day covers the basics of univariate statistics (measures of location and dispersion) and bivariate statistics (cross-tabulations and measures of correlation). The second day is dedicated to the basics of inferential statistics (hypothesis testing, confidence intervals) and includes an introduction to the method of linear regression analysis. The course content is taught in a practical way using survey data.

Prerequisites: Participants should have a basic knowledge of quantitative research methods, but do not need any specific prior mathematical knowledge. The course is strongly application-orientated and limits the teaching of mathematical basics to a reasonable minimum.

Target group: Doctoral candidates and those interested in a doctorate

Registration until 09 July 2024.
