Choosing the right journal is a particularly important decision, especially during the doctoral process. But how can you tell if an offer to publish is legitimate? And what warning signs point to so-called predatory journals or other unscrupulous publishing practices?
The workshop offered by the Doctoral Center for Social Work provides basic knowledge about predatory publishing and shows how to systematically evaluate potentially unscrupulous journals and publishers. Using concrete examples and practical exercises, participants will learn to recognize typical warning signs, critically evaluate publication offers, and make informed decisions regarding their own publication process.
